Alan’s eyes lit up at the prospect of traveling with the other man, something he hadn’t thought of doing until that exact moment. “That would be lovely!” He exclaimed excitedly, suddenly thinking of all the places they could go, all the things they could see together. It made him want to start as soon as possible, knowing his time was short. “We should try to go this summer.” he said forwardly. “And every summer we can go somewhere new.”

Eric was just as eager to begin, and his lover’s enthusiasm only made him smile wider, heart pounding with visions of the pair of them wandering in new territory. He thought it might be nice if they could abandon their work altogether and just explore the world, but knew better than to ask for that. Alan was a hardworking man. He would never. 

And for that matter, Eric wouldn’t either. But he still fancied the idea. 

“Aye. This summer. Me, you an’ nothin’ but open skies. I promise."
