I’ve been told by a lot of people that my name is really long and complicated, but it’s actually not that bad if you know what it means and how to say it C:
The first word is はな or hana. In this context, it means ‘flower(s)’ and is pronounced hah-nah.
The second word is ことば or kotoba. Just like hana, this word can mean other things. But in this instance, it’s closely translated to “language”. It is pronounced koh-toh-bah.
The next word is fairly simple since it’s just a particle! It’s はor wa. It’s kind of saying “as for this…” and is pronounced wah.
Finally we have こどく or kodoku. This word can be translated as “isolation” or “loneliness”. It’s pronounced koh-doh-koo.
So, the meaning of it: (keep in mind that Japanese people will often drop off subjects, so Eric is speaking about the Erica flower)
“As for in the language of flowers, it’s loneliness.”
The pronunciation is also fairly easy once you practice a few times!
hah-nah-koh-toh-bah-wah-koh-doh-koo
(If you guys think typing my url is hard, try typing that a few times. xD)
